John is a principal and consulting actuary in the New York office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1983.
Experience
John's area of expertise is in corporate retirement programs, including defined benefit pension plans, profit-sharing plans, and 401(k) plans. He specializes in the redesign of traditional pension plans, including the conversion of these plans to hybrid plans, including cash balance and pension equity plans.
Client projects have included ongoing plan valuation and administration, expense projections, asset/liability studies, development of simulation models for the redesign of benefit plans, and advice on benefits-related matters in acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers.
John has served on Milliman's Public Relations Committee and also on the firm's Employee Benefits Steering Committee.
Presentations and publications
John is the author of Milliman's annual Pension Funding Survey, which analyzes the funded status of the pension plans of 100 of the largest US corporations.
