John is a principal and consulting actuary with Milliman in Atlanta. He joined the firm in 1996.
Experience
John has 20 years of professional actuarial experience, primarily in the group insurance and employee benefits field. Prior to joining Milliman, he served as the director of actuarial services for PacifiCare Health Systems.
John has a broad range of group insurance actuarial expertise, specifically in healthcare. He consults regularly with health insurers, HMO's, hospitals, and physician organizations. John also consults to large employers on their health and welfare benefit programs. He assists these organizations with the following:

Regulatory rate filings
Product pricing and development
Group and individual product underwriting strategies
Provider reimbursement and risk-sharing methodologies

John's recent work has focused on benchmarking provider reimbursement and communicating network performance to current and potential purchasers of health plan products. John is a frequent speaker on these and other related actuarial topics.
