John Roos is the chief sales and marketing officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. In this capacity, he has sales responsibility for individual, group and national market segments, along with advertising, brand building, product development and market research in the marketing discipline. Roos joined the company in September 1998.
Roos was formerly senior vice president of sales and marketing for CIGNA Carolinas in Raleigh. Previously, he was the chief marketing officer for Healthsource Inc., a publicly traded company based in New Hampshire. Earlier, he was with Healthsource North Carolina and Carolina Physicians Health Plan, where he managed the sales, communications, underwriting and customer service functions.
Roos currently serves on the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center Advisory Board at the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. He also serves on the Cary Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Consortium Health Plans board of directors. He is active with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association’s Chief Marketing Executives group working to enhance the Blue Cross and Blue Shield brands nationally.
Roos earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University, majoring in advertising. |
