John formed Backstage Library Works in July 1998 to fill the gap left when Dynix (previously known as Ameritech Library Services and then epixtech) moved away from providing retrospective conversion and other behind-the-scenes services for libraries. John previously worked for Dynix for seven years, including two and a half years as Director of the Retro Link division. While at Dynix, John was one of five employees recognized by the parent company in Chicago as a "Leaders Circle" winner for outstanding customer service. John came to Dynix after six years managing customer service and finance functions in Rural Electric Cooperatives and managing a shoe factory. |
