John R. Alchin serves as Executive Vice President, Co-Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Corporation. He manages Comcast’s capital formation activities, including equity and debt placements in domestic and international markets. He is also responsible for investor relations and treasury cash management functions.
Before joining Comcast in January 1990, Mr. Alchin was a Managing Director of Toronto Dominion Bank. He was active in founding the bank’s U.S. Communications Finance Group in 1980, which rapidly became the largest lender to the cable television industry.
In 2007, 2006 and 2004 Mr. Alchin was named among America’s Best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine. In 2005 he was recognized as CFO to Watch by Treasury and Risk Management magazine, and in 2004 he received the CFO of the Year award from the Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association.
Mr. Alchin earned his B.A. and his M.B.A. degrees from the University of Toronto. He serves as a member of the board of directors of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation and BNY Hamilton Funds. Additionally, he serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern PA, is an Advisory Board Member of MANNA (Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance), and is a member of the Corporate Executive Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
