John P. Richard has extensive experience as a strategic and commercial development advisor for biotechnology companies. In addition to serving on Metastatix’s board of directors, he currently serves as Senior Business Advisor to GPC Biotech AG and Chairman of the board of Altus Pharmaceuticals Inc.Previously, Richard was Executive Vice President, Business Development, at SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for negotiating the acquisition of SEQUUS by ALZA Corporation in 1999. Prior to SEQUUS, Richard headed business development for VIVUS and Genome Therapeutics Corporation, where he was responsible for establishing numerous pharmaceutical alliances.In 1987, Richard co-founded and served as original CEO of IMPATH Inc., a leading commercial cancer pathology reference laboratory. He serves on the boards of Targacept, and Zygogen.Richard received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his B.S. degree from Stanford University. |
