John P. Arle, 57, is a vice president of Delphi Corporation and treasurer. He is also a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company's top policy-making group.
Arle joined General Motors (GM) in 1975 as a senior analyst at the Treasurer's Office in New York. He held a series of assignments there, including director of overseas financial analysis, director of employee benefit plans analysis and director of compensation and benefit plans analysis.
Arle was named director of finance for GM de Venezuela in 1982 and was named vice president and chief financial officer at GM Hughes Electronics in 1986. He moved to the GM/Toyota NUMMI joint venture in California in 1988 as general manager and comptroller. In 1992, he was named vice president and finance manager for GM of Canada, Ltd., and in 1993, became vice president and chief financial officer for Saab Automobile AB.
Arle was named executive director of planning for Delphi in February 1998. He was named a Delphi vice president in charge of mergers, acquisitions and planning in November 1998. In March 2002, he was named vice president in charge of corporate audit services. He was named to his current position effective June 9, 2005.
Arle earned a bachelor's degree at Colgate University in 1969 and was awarded a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1975. |
