Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
John O'Hara Horsley joined Transmeta as General Counsel in July 2000. From November 1997 to July 2000, Mr. Horsley served at the Federal Trade Commission as Deputy Assistant Director in appointed positions in the Bureau of Competition, most recently as Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property and Technology Matters. While at the FTC, Mr. Horsley was responsible for merger review and antitrust enforcement in several technology industries, including semiconductors and computers. From October 1988 to October 1997, Mr. Horsley practiced law as an associate and partner with Pillsbury Madison & Sutro, where he specialized in litigation and strategic counseling in intellectual property, antitrust, and securities law and shareholder matters. Mr. Horsley holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in English from the University of Utah and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
