John M. Toomey joined Telephone and Data Systems,Inc.in 2000 and was named Assistant Treasurer in 2005. He is responsible for risk management, credit, and certain capital markets functions for TDS and its business units, U.S. Cellular and TDS Telecom
Prior to joining TDS, Toomey was employed by Sears in Hoffman Estates, Ill., where he served as Risk Manager within the Treasury Department.Previously, he was Director of Risk Management Services for Waste Management, Inc. in Oak Brook, Ill.
Toomey is a member of Pi Tau Sigma, the national mechanical engineering honor society; Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society; and Beta Gamma Sigma, the business school honor society.
Toomey earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University |
