John M. Thompson was elected to the Merriman Curhan Ford board of directors as the non-executive chairman in November 2007. An experienced business advisor, Thompson has chaired many boards of directors, including Arthur D. Little and MedPanel, Inc. (now Panel Intelligence, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Merriman Curhan Ford) and has served on several others. In his last executive position, he served as chairman and CEO of CSC Europe, overseeing all European operations for the Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC). Prior to that he was vice chairman of Index Group, the company that pioneered the concepts of process redesign and business reengineering. Thompson is well known on both sides of the Atlantic as a management consultant, helping better position firms for stronger growth.
In the 1960s he co-founded Interactive Data Corporation, one of the first computer time-sharing companies and now a subsidiary of The Financial Times.
Thompson has been a guest faculty member at several universities including Harvard, MIT and Wharton, and he holds an M.A. from Cambridge University. |
