John Sheran is assistant chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard’s Product Liability and Tort Litigation practice group and co-coordinator of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Dispute practice group. He has had first-chair responsibility in more than 50 jury trials in state and federal courts involving claims of product defect, negligence, fraud, liquor liability and employment discrimination. In 1992 John was inducted as a Fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers and is certified as a civil trial specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has served as a faculty member and lecturer at seminars regarding defense strategies, the evaluation of personal injury claims, and the resolution of claims by alternative dispute resolution. Examples of John’s diverse litigation practice include his successful representation of clients in a multimillion- dollar insurance coverage dispute, a nationally reported public access to private property claim before the Minnesota Supreme Court, and the defense of a class action suit against America’s largest shopping mall.
John is admitted to practice in Minnesota State and Federal courts. He manages or handles all commodity litigation for Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America nationally. In addition, John has handled hundreds of serious personal injury and wrongful death cases for both plantiffs and the defense. He has been named as one of Minnesota’s Leading Attorneys in Personal Injury and Commercial Litigation.
