John M. (Jack) Scanlon brings a wealth of experience in a career that has spanned four decades. A recognized leader in the global telecommunications industry, Mr. Scanlon is currently an Advisor to Clarity Partners. He most recently served as CEO and Vice Chairman of Asia Global Crossing, and successfully completed its restructuring and sale. Mr. Scanlon was also the first CEO of Global Crossing. In parallel with these responsibilities, he was also chairman and CEO of PrimeCo, a Chicago-based cellular operator, where he led the company’s successful operational overhaul and sale. Prior to Global Crossing and PrimeCo, Mr. Scanlon was President and General Manager of Motorola’s Cellular Networks and Space Sector. Under his leadership, the cellular infrastructure segment alone grew from $500 million in four countries to $5.5 billion in more than 90 countries. From 1965 through 1988 he was with AT&T, primarily at Bell Labs, where he held technical and management positions rising to Group Vice President of AT&T. Mr. Scanlon has served on numerous corporate boards, is President Emeritus of Cornell University’s Engineering Board, a senior member of the IEEE, and holds six patents in computing and communications. Mr. Scanlon received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. |
