As Vice President of Business Operations for NII Holdings, Inc, McMahon is responsible for the management and operation of all post sale customer support functions. This includes overseeing Customer Care, Order Fulfillment and Service & Repair. McMahon is also responsible for all Purchasing and Logistics for NII Holdings, Inc.
Throughout Latin America, NII Holdings enjoys an excellent reputation for customer care and service. Under McMahon’s leadership, the company and customers alike have benefited from his dedication to providing quality customer service. As a result, NII Holdings boasts one of the lowest CHURN rates, meaning subscriber turnover rates, at 1.6 percent, in Latin America, ensuring retention of loyal and satisfied subscribers. In addition, his successful business operations have produced average monthly revenue per unit (ARPU) of $58, the highest in the region.
Before joining NII Holdings, McMahon served as Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, North Region, for Nextel Communications Inc. In this capacity he was responsible for developing and managing all budgets and financial reporting associated with the 3,000 employee division. In addition, McMahon handled all Fulfillment and Handset Service & Repair functions within the North Region.
Prior to joining NII in 1995, McMahon served as Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis with Shearson Smith Barney at their world headquarters in New York. As a senior lead in the department, he was responsible for coordinating and reporting financial data to the senior leadership team in the company. He was also responsible for leading an internal audit team aimed at decreasing costs and increasing efficiencies throughout the Shearson organization.
From 1986 to 1991 McMahon held various positions in Finance and Operations at Shearson Lehman Brothers and EF Hutton.
Mr. McMahon received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the State University of New York, and studied for his Masters in Finance at Fordham University.
