Mr. Klett joined Covanta in 1986 as Vice President of Operations. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1998 and provided the leadership to sustain record years of production through the company’s restructure during and after its bankruptcy. As Senior Vice President of Operations in 2004 he led the operational due diligence on the acquisitions and transition of the American Ref-Fuel Company. He is currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Covanta Energy Corporation and Executive Vice President of Covanta Power International Holdings. In this post he is responsible for overseeing the long-term operations of all 32 Energy-from-Waste facilities in the United States in addition to International Operations which not only includes Energy-from-Waste facilities but also its IPP projects in India Italy China Philippines and Bangladesh. Mr. Klett has over 40 years of hands-on experience in power plant operation including 30 years in the Energy-from-Waste industry. Mr. Klett earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Mercy College after his four year tour of duty in the United States Navy. |
