John M. Keane age 63 is Senior Managing Director and co-founder of Keane Advisors LLC a private equity and consulting firm. Previously he was President of GSI LLC an independent consulting firm. He is Senior Advisor to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co. a private equity firm and an Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of URS Corporation. General Keane a four-star general served in the U.S. Army for 37 years. He was Vice Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer for the Army from 1999 until his retirement in October 2003. During his four years in that role he managed operations for more than 1.5 million soldiers and civilians in over 120 countries as well as an annual budget in excess of $100 billion. Prior to becoming Vice Chief of Staff General Keane served as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the United States Atlantic Command from 1998 to 1999. General Keane also is a Director of General Dynamics Corporation and a member of the Board of Managers of Allied Security Holdings LLC. He is a military contributor and analyst with ABC News and is a Member of the United States Department of Defense Policy Board a commissioner on the Congressional Commission on the National Guard and Reserves a member of the Council on Foreign Relations a director of the George C. Marshall Foundation a director of the Knollwood Foundation a member of the Executive Committee Pentagon Memorial Fund chairman of the Terry Maude Foundation and chairman of the Senior Executive Committee Army Aviation Association of America. General Keane received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fordham University and a master’s degree in philosophy from Western Kentucky University. General Keane also has received honorary doctorate degrees in law and public service from Fordham University and Eastern Kentucky University respectively. He is a graduate of the Army War College and the Command and General Staff College. General Keane has been a Director of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since October 2003. |
