John L. Knorek
has limited his practice to the representation of businesses and management executives facing the complex issues of employment and labor law.
For 25 years he has counseled Hawaii employers in compliance, seeking to avoid litigation whenever possible, but vigorously defending them when necessary through representation before both state and federal courts and agencies. He has successfully resolved dozens of disputes through mediation.
His practice also includes preparation of affirmative action plans, policy guidance, representation in union elections and unfair labor practice proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations and grievance arbitration. Mr. Knorek has spoken extensively throughout the islands to business groups and companies, recently focusing on family and medical leave, disability law and sexual harassment.
Mr. Knorek received his B.A. and M.A. in Public Administration from the University of Cincinnati, and his J.D. from Georgetown University. He is a director and officer, and chair of the firm's Technology Committee.
Mr. Knorek is a director of Hospice Hawaii and serves as chair for the Castle Hospital Charity Golf Tournament. He is a former director of the Society for Human Resource Management-Hawaii Chapter and Le Jardin Academy. |
