Dr. John L. Hennessy, one of our founders, has served as Chairman of our Board of Directors since our inception in May 1998. Since September 2000, Dr. Hennessy has served as the President of Stanford University, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1977. From 1999 to 2000, Dr. Hennessy was the Provost of Stanford. Prior to becoming Provost, from 1996 to 1999, Dr. Hennessy served as the Dean of Stanford's School of Engineering. Dr. Hennessy is a member of the Board of Directors for Google Inc., provider of search engine technologies and Cisco Systems Inc., a manufacturer of networking equipment. Dr. Hennessy is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Dr. Hennessy holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Science degree in computer science from the State University of New York, Stony Brook and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University. |
