John L. Habib, Managing Partner of Kalbian Hagerty LLP's Middle East Practice Group, is based in our offices in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Habib has a broad corporate, commercial law and litigation practice, focusing primarily on international distributor and agency relationship management, corporate governance, transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has extensive experience in intellectual property and international corporate and securities law matters. Mr. Habib regularly advises clients seeking to access Middle Eastern markets through direct or indirect private investment. He has advised and represented clients in diverse industries, including consumer products, real estate, banking, defense contracting, project finance and professional services.
Mr. Habib has practiced law for more than fifteen years in Washington D.C., New York, Arizona and several countries in the Middle East. In 1999, he was appointed General Counsel of Farnam Companies, Inc., a leading Phoenix-based consumer products manufacturer with a world-wide distributor network. He later became the President of Farnam's largest business unit, and then Vice President of Sales across business units. Immediately prior to joining Kalbian Hagerty LLP, Mr. Habib served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Alliances, responsible for all stages of prospecting, due diligence and closing transactions.
Mr. Habib earned a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from Colgate University. He was awarded his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University in 1990, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Emory International Law Review. He is admitted to practice in New York, Maryland, Arizona and the District of Columbia. |
