John Schultz is an attorney with more than 12 years of combined law company and consulting experience in employee benefits in corporate and governmental sectors. John provides a full range of executive compensation and equity compensation services to clients across industries.
Prior to joining SMART, John was the Principal of KPMG’s Compensation and Benefits practice Denver office. In that role, John developed, drafted, administered and provided on-going consulting services for employee and executive compensation and benefits programs, including non-qualified deferred compensation plans, severance pay plans, supplemental retirement plans, 401(k) plans, employee stock ownership plans, cafeteria plans and VEBAs, incentive compensation plans, employee agreements, and qualified and non-qualified stock plans. John also coordinated employee benefit issues in connection with numerous mergers and acquisitions, including analysis of golden parachute issues, employment agreement/change in control payments, and other potential benefit plan liabilities. |
