John K. Castle, Chairman - Mr. Castle is the Chairman of Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. He has spent much of the last two decades involved with healthcare institutions and issues including serving as Chairman of the Board of New York Medical College for eleven years, and as a member of that Board for more than twenty years. Mr. Castle served for five years as a public commissioner on the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), as a trustee of five different hospitals in the metropolitan New York region and is a director emeritus of the United Hospital Fund as well as a trustee of the Whitehead Institute. In addition to his healthcare activities, Mr. Castle has served on many voluntary boards including the Corporation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as numerous corporate boards of directors, including the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States. He is chairman of a leading merchant bank and has been chief executive of a major investment bank. Mr. Castle holds a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT; an MBA with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar; and an honorary doctorate from New York Medical College. |
