There are a few basic things one needs to do in order to get in good with John Bailey, president of John Bailey & Associates Inc. (JB&A):
Care for yourself
Care for your family
Always tell the truth
Work hard and work smart
Root for the Detroit Red Wings
Oh, and it wouldn’t hurt to take up golf.
John lives his life by these simple principles and they have guided him successfully through a public relations career that spans more than 30 years.
John’s public relations expertise encompasses new product announcements at the state, regional and national levels, strategic management planning and corporate image enhancement for both automotive and non-automotive companies. His crisis planning and management experience includes corporate reorganizations, plant closings, corporate takeovers, corporate downsizing and special issue and image campaigns.
Additionally, one of John’s greatest strengths is his effective media relations skills. He maintains contact with an extensive group of local and national automotive, business and specialty media and has expertise in media interview and presentation training. He has successfully prepared clients for interviews and presentations including meetings with "60 Minutes," "20/20," the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
John is not only committed to his career, but also to supporting the Detroit area's professional, civic and cultural organizations. He is a long-time director of the Detroit Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and has chaired several committees over the years. In 1998, he received a Creatives for a Cure career achievement award for his ongoing work with students and new professionals entering the public relations field. John also has received the PRSA-Detroit chapter's Distinguished Achievement Award for outstanding service to the public relations profession.
John is a member of the Automotive Press Association, Washington Press Club, Society of Automotive Analysts, the Sales and Marketing Executives, Oakland University President's Club, Wayne State University's Anthony Wayne Society, and is one of few communications professionals to earn membership in the Society of Automotive Engineers. He also is a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber's Leadership Detroit program.
John resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Jan. He is the proud father of three grown children and the grandfather of six boys -all of whom love him, and the Red Wings, very much. |
