John J. McMahon, Jr. is Chairman and a co-founder of Ligon Industries, LLC. He has been involved in direct equity investing for more than 30 years. Mr. McMahon worked for McWane, Inc., a closely held manufacturing holding company with over 20 plants and over one billion in sales, for 25 years. During his career at McWane, Inc., Mr. McMahon held numerous management positions including President and Chairman of the Board. Mr. McMahon negotiated over 25 acquisitions ranging from publicly held companies to small privately held companies.Mr. McMahon serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee of McWane, Inc; and is a director of Alabama National Bancorporation, National Bank of Commerce, Protective Life Insurance Company, ProAssurance, John H. Harland Company, UAB Health Systems, University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (Kirklin Clinic), Callahan Eye Foundation, Birmingham Police Foundation and the Birmingham Opera. Mr. McMahon also serves as President Pro-Tem of the board of trustees of the University of Alabama and as a trustee of Birmingham-Southern College. Mr. McMahon’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College and a law degree from the University of Alabama. |
