McDonnell is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Transaction Network Services, Inc. (TNS), one of the world’s leading providers of data communication services for transaction-oriented applications. TNS went public in 1994 and was acquired by PSINet in 1999. In March, 2001, Mr. McDonnell and GTCR Golder Rauner LLC acquired TNS from PSINet. Prior to founding TNS, Mr. McDonnell was President and CEO of Digital Radio, Inc., a local access bypass carrier for POS transactions. He also served as a director for the National Commission on Electronic Funds Transfer and held positions as vice president for Tymnet. Mr. McDonnell also served as group vice president for the Information Technologies and Telecommunications Group of the Electronic Industries Association. He is a founder and active leader of the Electronic Funds Transfer Association. Mr. McDonnell is the recipient of KPMG’s High Tech Entrepreneur Award in 1997. |
