Mr. McCoy is a member of the Business and Finance Department, where his practice involves representation of public and closely held businesses. He has focused experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance (including internal investigations), securities, banking and finance, health care, commercial transactions and securities markets regulatory matters. His experience includes service as counsel to several public companies and as outside general counsel to the National Stock Exchange, based in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to joining the firm's Business and Finance Department, Mr. McCoy practiced in the firm's litigation group, gaining extensive first chair trial and appellate experience in business, securities, commercial and First Amendment cases. He has been a partner in the firm since 1985, and is admitted to the bars of Ohio, various U.S. district courts and courts of appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. McCoy is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and serves as manager of TSH Operating Ventures, which operates the firm's ancillary business units. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics (summa cum laude) from Xavier University and his law degree from the University of Chicago School of Law.
