John J. Kelly, Jr. has over twenty years experience in intellectual property law. He has extensive experience in patent prosecution, patent counseling, and patent validity and infringement opinions in a wide variety of technologies.
Mr. Kelly has frequently argued appeals before the United States Patent Office Board of Appeals and Interferences and is experienced in appellate practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is also experienced in patent litigation in the United States District Courts and the United States International Trade Commission.
Mr. Kelly has extensive experience in all aspects of intellectual property licensing and intellectual property due diligence related to mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings.
Mr. Kelly was previously an in-house patent attorney for Union Carbide Corporation. Mr. Kelly was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, Submarine Service, and is retired from the United States Naval Reserve with the rank of Commander.
