Mr. Waters is Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer for Level 3, and is responsible for developing the company's overall technology roadmap. Prior to joining Level 3, Mr. Waters was an executive staff member responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of MCI and Concert's Internet Services. Additionally, he was one of the original key contributors who designed and built MCI's initial Internet service.
Mr. Waters has over 16 years of experience focusing on engineering and design of Internet technology and services.
John F. Waters, Jr. has been Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer since January 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Waters was Group Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Company from February 2000 to January 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Waters was Vice President, Engineering of the Company from November 1997 until February 1, 2000. Prior to that, Mr. Waters was an executive staff member of MCI Communications from 1994 to November 1997.
