John F. Spindler received his A.B. and J.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. Following his graduation from law school in 1953, he served as an officer in the Army Judge Advocate General's Office in the Pentagon, working on government contract litigation until 1956, when he joined Cummings & Lockwood. John has focused in corporate litigation and litigation involving estates and trusts, particularly matters involving the fiduciary duties of officers, directors, executors and trustees, and matters involving the management of controlling stock interests in closely held and public corporations, and controversies involving corporate control. He served for many years as a member of the Ethics Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association and is frequently consulted by other members of the firm on matters involving potential conflicts of interest and other questions of professional ethics and responsibility. |
