John Coburn is responsible for the Company’s corporate governance, and for legal matters related to corporate law, securities law, financing, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, stock plans, subsidiary governance, and business acquisitions. John serves as Secretary of the Company and the Board of Directors, and in that capacity advises the Board and its committees regarding governance, ethics, compliance, and other legal issues. He is also the Clearance Director for stock transactions by senior management and the Board.
Before joining Nike, John worked for Tonkon Torp LLP, a Portland commercial law firm, representing a wide variety of businesses in commercial transactions, securities, taxation, and finance. He is an active member of the Oregon Bar.
Outside of Nike, John serves on the Board of Directors of the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce, and on the Advisory Board of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. He coaches his son’s baseball team and his daughter’s softball team, and enjoys boating and any outdoor activities with his family.
