Practice Focus
John has practiced law since 1967. During this time, his practice has included representation of business and municipal clients on a wide range of commercial and personal injury litigation and, over the past 20 years, of environmental matters. His practice is focused on environmental compliance, permitting, the development of remedial alternatives, the redevelopment of contaminated properties and litigation. In addition, John has developed a mediation practice covering all aspects of environmental, commercial and personal injury litigation.Sample Matters
Successfully served as common counsel and negotiated a multi-party settlement on behalf of a 186-member Potentially Responsible Party Group in a major New England Superfund Site.
Successfully served as common counsel to multi-party Potentially Responsible Party Groups at Superfund Sites throughout New England.
Successfully served as counsel to a municipality in negotiations with state and federal officials, including the Army Corps of Engineers, and a private party in achieving an agreement to dredge a major river.

John is recognized in Chambers USA as one of the most notable environmental lawyers in New Hampshire, and had been named a New England Super Lawyer.
Memberships and Admissions
John is a member of both the New Hampshire Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire. He participates as a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association Ethics Committee. He also sits on the New Hampshire Board of Claims as a gubernatorial appointment.
Community Involvement
He has held the position of President of his community’s Lion’s Club and, for many years, served on his community’s Zoning Board of Adjustment. From 1967 to 1972, he served in the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force. |
