John, a licensed architect, joined the Orren Pickell Design Group as a project designer in 1998 and became a principal of the firm only two years later. He has 13 years of experience in architecture, construction and related fields. His background includes a wide variety of projects, such as: educational institutions, community centers, condominiums, townhouses, entry-level homes, semi-custom homes, and luxury custom homes. John has made significant contributions toward making Orren Pickell Design Group an award-winning designer of luxury custom homes in Lake County and throughout the North Shore of Chicago. In his role as Co-Director of the Design Group, he manages the firm in the design and construction document phases, as well as construction management. He has also coordinated the firm's aggressive training program and its interaction with other divisions of the company. John's awards and recognition range from judging for the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago as well as Qualified Remodeler magazine's "Design Award Contest." In addition, he was a team recipient of numerous Chicago Home Builder's Association and Association of Licensed Architects awards. John is a graduate of Illinois State University (Bachelor of Arts in Marketing) and Oakton College (Associate in Applied Science in Architectural Technology Certificate in Architectural CAD). He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as well as the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA). He, his wife, daughter and son reside in the northwest suburbs. |
