John D. North is a partner of the firm and a member of its Litigation Department. Mr. North has successfully tried numerous jury and non-jury cases in state and federal courts. He has tried over 65 jury cases to verdict, including significant cases in the fields of banking, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, products liability, and construction. He concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, construction litigation, and in professional liability and negligence matters. While Mr. North primarily handles defensive litigation, he maintains a personal injury practice limited to cases involving significant injuries and complex liability issues. In 2006, he obtained the largest personal injury verdict in New Jersey, a $26.2 million verdict in a products liability crashworthiness case. Mr. North is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has also been elected as Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, and as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates’ Forum and an associate member of the American Association for Justice. Mr. North has been invited to speak on trial practice issues before bar groups and in continuing legal education programs. He has been named to the list of Super Lawyers, as featured in New Jersey Monthly Magazine in the Civil Litigation Defense category. Mr. North is a member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and a member of the Middlesex County and New Jersey State Bar Associations. He is a graduate of Lehigh University (1971) and received a law degree from the University of Maryland (1977). Mr. North has been certified as a civil trial attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court since 1988. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1977); before the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey (1977); and before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit (1985). |
