Mr. Hiestand joined Merriman Curhan Ford & Co. in January 2002 from CIENA Corporation, where he served as the controller of the Metro-Switching Division. Mr. Hiestand had come to CIENA through the merger with Cyras Systems, Inc., where he played a key role as controller in building the operating infrastructure of this emerging-growth optical networking equipment provider. Prior to his experience at CIENA/Cyras, Mr. Hiestand was a senior manager at KPMG LLP in San Francisco. At KPMG, Mr. Hiestand focused on serving publicly-traded audit clients in the information, communications and financial services sectors. Mr. Hiestand received a B.A. in business from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1991, and holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations. Mr. Hiestand is based in our San Francisco office. |
