Business Litigation
John D. Phillips, Jr., who has more than 49 years experience, including serving as a federal law clerk after law school, was the senior partner of one of Denver’s largest law firms before he joined Polsinelli Shughart's Denver office when it opened in 1998.
He is a general commercial litigator who also has experience in malpractice claims, representing both the plaintiff and defense. His complex commercial litigation experience includes securities, antitrust, civil rights, bankruptcy, class actions, libel and slander, fraud, contracts and aviation.
Mr. Phillips has represented many prominent Denver and Colorado firms in the defense of legal and accounting malpractice claims. He handles the prosecution or defense of commercial litigation matters in various courts and jurisdictions on behalf of a number of major corporations and is also involved in general aviation litigation.
Mr. Phillips earned the distinction of Colorado Super Lawyer in 2008 and 2009.

Mr. Phillips was honored as a "Super Lawyer" in the 2006 and 2007 editions of the Colorado Super Lawyer magazine.
Lecturer in the areas of legal malpractice, evidence and complex litigation.
Moderator in continuing legal education programs in the areas of litigation and legal malpractice.
