Recent Business Experience: Mr. Opie is the former Vice Chairman of the Board and Executive Officer for General Electric Company. He had been associated with General Electric Company since 1961 in numerous management positions, including Vice President of the Lexan and Specialty Plastics Divisions, President of the Distribution Equipment Business Division and President of General Electric Company's Lighting Business from 1986 to 1995. He also is a Life Trustee of Michigan Tech. University. Mr. Opie is Lead Independent Director of Delphi's Board of Directors and is an ex officio member of the Audit Committee, the Compensation and Executive Development Committee and the Corporate Governance and Public Issues Committee of Delphi's Board of Directors.
