John D. Magluyan is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Orange County office. He is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, where he focuses his practice on patent prosecution. John represents clients in various fields, including software, semiconductor devices, digital communications, image processing, internet technologies, materials technologies, aerospace and optics.
John’s experience includes foreign and domestic patent prosecution, rendering opinions concerning infringement and validity of patents, pre-litigation analysis and investor due diligence.
Prior to joining McDermott, John gained technical and practical engineering experience in the design, development and testing of computer software through his work at Unisys.
John earned his J.D. from the Whittier College School of Law (cum laude) and his B.S. in information and computer science from the University of California at Irvine. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
