Mr. John Goff is the CEO and Vice Chairman of Crescent Real Estate Equities Inc. (NYSE-CEI) ("Crescent") a real estate investment trust. From 1987 to 1994 Mr. Goff served as Vice President of Rainwater Inc. acting as a senior investment advisor to and investor with Richard E. Rainwater.
Beginning in 1990 Mr. Goff was responsible for the development of Mr. Rainwater's real estate business designing the strategy and acquiring the assets that led to the initial public offering of Crescent Real Estate Equities in May 1994. Mr. Goff served as CEO of Crescent through late 1996 when he assumed the role of Vice Chairman and returned as CEO again in mid-1999. Crescent has grown from just over $500 million in assets at its public offering to over $5 billion today.
Mr. Goff is also Managing Principal of Goff Moore Strategic Partners L.P. and Goff Capital Partners L.P. which are both private investment firms with over $2 billion of investments under management. Prior to joining Rainwater Inc. Mr. Goff was employed by KPMG Peat Marwick from 1981 to 1987.
In addition to Crescent Mr. Goff serves on numerous boards both corporate and non-profit. Mr. Goff’s primary community commitment focuses on FACES of Change® Crescent’s signature adopt-a school program which he co-founded in 1997. FACES partners elementary schools of limited resources with a Crescent property. Since its inception FACES has partnered with 68 schools nationwide generating contributions of over $2 million and 45 000 volunteer hours.
In celebration of Crescent’s tenth year as a public company Mr. Goff directed Crescent’s philanthropic outreach to six public libraries in the major communities Crescent serves and an extensive renovation of Fort Worth’s Northside Branch Library.
