Mr. Danforth a former United States Senator and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations is a partner with the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP. Bryan Cave ranks among the 30 largest law firms in the United States. Along with serving on Cerner’s board of directors Mr. Danforth serves on the boards of Greenhill & Co. Inc. the Danforth Foundation the commission on Presidential Debates and on the Board of Trustees of the Eisenhower Medical Center.
Mr. Danforth represented the state of Missouri in the U.S. Senate for 18 years. He served on three key committees: the Committee on Finance; the Committee on Commerce Science and Transportation; and the Select Committee on Intelligence. U.S. News and Word Report named Mr. Danforth as an example of excellence in government and the Nation Journal named Mr. Danforth as one of the 31 outstanding individuals among 535 members of Congress. Prior to his Senate term Mr. Danforth was elected attorney general of Missouri for eight years.
Mr. Danforth has received the St. Louis Award the Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award and the St. Louis Man of the Year Award among many others. He is ordained to the clergy of the Episcopal Church. Mr. Danforth received his secondary education at St. Louis Country Day School and graduated with honors from Princeton University. He then received a bachelor of divinity degree from Yale Divinity School and a bachelor of laws degree from Yale Law School. Before seeking public office Mr. Danforth practiced law in New York City and St. Louis.
Mr. Danforth and his wife Sally Dobson Danforth live in St. Louis County. They have five children and 13 grandchildren. |
