John is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Medical Corporation, a reprocessor of medical devices for safe reuse by a wide variety of clinical specialties. Prior to joining Alliance, John was President and CEO of Bridge Medical, an information technology firm that pioneered the use of barcode technology in healthcare and is a leading provider of patient safety technology solutions. Prior to joining Bridge in 1997, John was Vice President for Care Delivery Options at Allina Health System (now known as Allina Hospitals & Clinics), where he was responsible for all hospital, long-term care, hospice and home care operations. Prior to Allina, John served as COO and CEO of Legacy Health System in Portland, where he managed ongoing operations of five hospitals, a home healthcare company and corporate support services. Grotting is a member of the first board of directors of--and serves as a spokesperson for--the National Alliance for Health Information Technology. NAHIT is dedicated to improving quality and performance through standards-based information systems. An active board member for several startup healthcare and technology companies, he also serves on the boards of ForHealth Technologies, Inc. and Xplica Corporations, and as an advisor to Affinity Capital Management. He actively promotes patient safety through speaking engagements and other activities. John has a B.A. in economics from St. Olaf College and a master's degree in healthcare management from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. |
