Prior to the merger with Capital One, Mr. Kanas served as Chairman, President and CEO of North Fork Bancorporation, Inc. and North Fork Bank and Chairman of Superior Savings of New England, N.A., a subsidiary of North Fork Bancorporation, Inc. He is now Chief Executive Officer and a director of North Fork Bank, and Superior Savings of New England, N.A. and a director of Capital One and Capital One, National Association.
