John Haggerty is a Managing Principal and Consultant at Meketa Investment Group. He joined the firm in 1996 and has been in the financial services industry since 1993. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1992. Mr. Haggerty serves as the lead consultant on various defined benefit and health & welfare funds, with Taft-Hartley, corporate, and public plan sponsors. His consulting work includes investment policy design and asset allocation modeling, in addition to analysis of manager and fund performance. Alternative investments is one of his areas of expertise. Mr. Haggerty is a member of the firm’s Private Equity, Real Estate and Hedge Fund Investment Committees. Further, he is the chairman of the Private Equity Investment Committee. As chairman, Mr. Haggerty is responsible for the efficient functioning of the group as a decision making body, and oversees the governance of the program.Mr. Haggerty became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1996 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. He speaks at numerous industry events, including the Trustees Masters Program of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and the Massachusetts Association of Contributory Retirements Systems. Mr. Haggerty is a member of the Massachusetts Public Pension Forum and the Pension Real Estate Association. |
