Jack Breviu chairs Leonard, Street and Deinard’s Health Law practice group as well as its Regulated Industries department. He has extensive experience in health plan, insurance and provider law. Jack represents various health plans on contracting, regulatory, financial, compliance and transactional matters. He represents health care providers including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physicians and others on transactional, regulatory and credentialing matters. He has represented pharmacy benefit managers and health information technology companies, as well. Jack also advises clients on Medicare and Medicaid regulation, fraud and abuse law, ERISA and HIPAA issues. Jack works with clients on state regulatory issues in virtually every state and he works with clients and firm litigators on various litigated matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Jack served as General Counsel of UnitedHealthcare, the health plan division of UnitedHealth Group, where he worked on a wide array of issues including transactional, regulatory compliance, Medicare/Medicaid, provider contracting and credentialing. Jack was also an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota, focusing on litigation and administrative law matters involving health plans, health care facilities and health care providers. Jack is a frequent lecturer on health law matters and has served as an adjunct professor of health law at William Mitchell College of Law. |
