After practicing financial planning at a number of legal and accounting firms, Joel became Director of the Personal Financial Planning Department at Shearson Lehman Brothers and then at Dean Witter. In these positions, Joel designed and rolled out the Personal Review Outline (PRO) and the Pre-Retirement Income Management Evaluator (PRIME). Under his guidance, tens of thousands of asset allocation and retirement plans were delivered and successfully implemented through the firms' brokers. The production system for these plans was built and operated by the Personal Financial Services division of Price Waterhouse, which later provided the key personnel who formed Archimedes Systems. Based on the technical and marketing expertise that Joel had developed for these Wall Street leaders, he was recruited by Price Waterhouse to help them develop and expand the use of this technology at other financial service clients. At Archimedes, Joel has focused on the retirement planning marketplace, and has spearheaded the design and development of a number of web-based 401(k) proposal ordering and delivery systems. He was also instrumental in developing paper and web-based planning tools and proactive participant communication systems for the post-enrollment market. Joel's clients include Salomon Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Putnam Investments, John Hancock Financial Services, AIM Retirement Services, Wells Fargo, The Equitable, Merrill Lynch, Fidelity Investments and American Express. |
