Joe Yiu is the senior vice president and chairman Asia-Pacific for Freescale Semiconductor the global leader in embedded processing solutions. In his chairman's position reporting directly to Freescale's CEO Michel Mayer Joe provides leadership on high-level corporate strategic issues and government relations in the region. Prior to his current role Joe was Freescale's general manager of the Asia region and before that worked for Motorola's semiconductor business in Asia as its corporate vice president and regional general manager.
In 1978 Joe joined the Motorola Automotive Product Division in Texas. He was responsible for the development and implementation of Motorola's factory automation process for the production of engine control and instrumentation electronics. Joe was transferred to the Motorola Computer Group in 1983 and elevated to the assignment director of engineering responsible for the development of high reliability computer systems for industrial control and telecommunication applications. In 1993 he joined Motorola's semiconductor business in Asia overseeing the microprocessor and memory products. Joe was later named vice president and general manager of the Communications and Advanced Consumer Technology Division.
Joe earned bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska a master's degree in software engineering from Trinity University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Phoenix. |
