Joe Skraba has over 20 years of experience in commercialization of a broad range of medical device and biotech products. He worked for Sulzer Biologics for 4 years as General Manager of their 65 person Biologics Division responsible for commercialization of a proprietary protein growth factor mixture for spine fusion and fracture repair indications. He guided the development and expansion of the elaborate protein purification processes for the natural protein mixture into successful European clinical trials. Joe had significant experience working with regulatory agencies in the US and Europe on commercial approval processes. Prior to that Mr. Skraba worked for Sulzer Orthopedics for 15 years in various product development engineering roles and management responsibilities, including 6 years as Vice President of R&D, with a 110 person staff and an annual budget in excess of $12 million. During this time Sulzer was successful in introducing 15 new platform products, licensed new Polyethylene technology and filed over 40 patent applications. He led the presentation process with the FDA to gain Class III approval for a new knee prosthesis technology. He was also involved in several acquisition due diligence processes for various business and technology acquisitions. Prior to this, Joe spent 3 years at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation involved in Orthopedic Research. Mr. Skraba has B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University, a M.B.A.. from St. Edward’s University and a M.S. in Science and Technology Commercialization from The University of Texas. |
