Prior to joining Intevac in August 2006 Dr. Pietras was General Manager of Sarnoff Imaging Systems where he led the transition of leading-edge imaging technology into sensor and camera products for the aerospace semiconductor and scientific instrumentation markets. Dr. Pietras also served as Vice President of Operations for several imaging divisions of Roper Industries specializing in the design and manufacture of high-performance cameras for scientific and industrial applications. He also held senior Engineering and Operations management positions during his 18 year tenure at Schlumberger Ltd where he was involved in the development and manufacturing of vacuum-based photodetectors for oil exploration and defense industries. Dr. Pietras holds a Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University.
