Joe Gomes joined the Athletes' Performance team in 2006 to manage and develop the Athletes' Performance Education programs. Joe focuses on developing programs to share Athletes' Performance's innovative and progressive methodology with industry professionals and organizations worldwide. In addition, Joe continues to develop the Athletes' Performance methodology and integrate both research and performance technology into its systems. Joe moved to the US to from the UK bringing with him a wealth of experience acquired working with professional athletes and teams in numerous sports around the world. In addition, his services have him actively consulting with high performance organizations and agencies from a number of different backgrounds, including US Military Special Forces, US Secret Service, Professional Soccer Teams, Professional Rugby Teams, The Football Association UK, UK Athletics, and Wimbledon Tennis Championship. He provides strategies to identify and reduce injury potential as well as increasing and maintaining optimum performance levels in elite competitive environments. Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mary's University in London, England, graduating with Honors. He passionately continues his own education in sports science and sports medicine through research, conferences and industry education courses. Joe strongly believes in giving back to the industry and regularly speaks on Athletes' Performance methodology both nationally and internationally. His particular area of emphasis is the integration of rehabilitation and the correction of movement compensation into performance training. Joe also lectures for the Functional Movement Screen Workshop Certification in both the USA and Europe. |
