Joanne Reuter serves as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of PNM Resources and its subsidiary PNM. Reuter oversees corporate governance, ethics and compliance, audit services and administration for legal services.
Reuter's role demonstrates the importance the company places on corporate governance practices, business ethics and compliance as these areas continue to receive intense scrutiny under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
A former journalist, Reuter joined PNM in 1992 and has held a variety of positions since then. Most recently she was Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for PNM, Texas-New Mexico Power and First Choice Power. She also served as lead counsel on PNM's plan to transition to a restructured, competitive retail electric industry in New Mexico as well as the company's exit strategy when retail competition was repealed in 2003. Reuter also was lead counsel on a 2003 global electric rate settlement.
