Ms. Baker has more than 20 years of experience in coding, auditing and training for acute-care hospital inpatient and outpatient departments, physicians’ offices and government services. She holds several national coding certifications with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and credentials as a certified healthcare compliance consultant (CHCC) with Healthcare Compliance Resource. As an approved AAPC PMCC curriculum instructor, she is an adjunct instructor for Morris and Warren Community Colleges and Mount Olive High School Adult Community School in New Jersey, teaching basic, intermediate and advanced coding classes in addition to certification preparation courses. Ms. Baker is an experienced presenter, having made a VA nationwide satellite broadcast presentation and presentations at the AAPC national convention (four years running) and AAPC local chapters in New Jersey and Virginia. Ms. Baker also has presented tele-web conferences for the Coding Reimbursement Network and the Coding Institute. She has had numerous articles published in AAPC’s Coding Edge and Advance for HIM. Ms. Baker is a past member of the AAPC National Advisory Board, having recently completed a three-year tenure, and is founder and president of the AAPC local chapter in Essex County, New Jersey. Ms. Baker holds an AA in Humanities/Social Science. |
