Joan Cohen is President of H&R Block Financial Advisors and has served since early 2005 as top executive of the business unit, which became part of H&R Block's Consumer Financial Services Group when it began operations in May 2006.
Prior to joining H&R Block Financial Advisors, Cohen served as chief financial officer and chief of staff for ING Advisors Network, the largest network of its kind with more than 10,000 independent financial planners. She also served as senior vice president and controller for ING Americas, one of the largest integrated financial services organizations in the world. Before joining ING, Cohen held the position of Vice President, Controller for Washington National Corp.
Cohen has a degree in accounting from Adrian College, is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a general financial/operations principal license. She is a member of Financial Executives International and serves on the board of Kansas City’s Women’s Employment Network.
