Joan M. Crockett is senior vice president of human resources for Allstate Insurance Company. She serves as a member of the Allstate senior management team.
Crockett is responsible for developing the full range of policies and programs designed to attract, retain, and reward Allstate employees and agents. Her specific responsibilities include recruiting/selection, job and organizational design, compensation and benefits, leadership development, education and development, performance management, employee relations, and workforce diversity.
Crockett was named Human Resource Executive of the Year by Human Resource Executive magazine in 1997 and in 2005 was recognized as one of the Top 25 Women in Human Resources Leadership by the same publication. In 1999, Linkage, Inc. recognized Allstate as the Most Innovative HR Department. Under Crockett’s leadership, organizations and magazines such as DiversityInc, Working Mother magazine, Hispanic magazine, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Exemplary Voluntary Effort Award and Catalyst have recognized Allstate’s creative and effective Human Resource practices.
Crockett is actively involved in a number of civic and professional organizations. She is currently a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, on the National Board for Jobs for America’s Graduates and a partner of the Center for Human Resource Management at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is the past Chair of the Governing Council of Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL.
